Please don’t take that away from us.

I haven’t wrote any political posts around here. I didn’t felt I needed to do. But now it’s time for it, since a lot of countries around the world had seen some unprecedented changes in the last year and a half.

US had a new racist president (for anyone that says anything different, you just need to watch what he did recently, when he banned all the muslim population from traveling in US), UK is on the verge of getting out of the EU (and it’s going to be an interesting process, since the EU wants to transmit a clear message about it). Also, since the syrian refugee crisis in 2015-2016, European Union countries hadn’t been more divided, and that culminated with the rise of right wing nationalist parties in a lot of countries in EU.

France has the Nationalist Party, right extremist (Marie Le Pen), funded by Russia, The Netherland had a nationalist movement, but they also have some doubts about the EU, The Belgians have some internal problems with their own regions, Spain is poor as hell, same as Greece.

And don’t get me started on Poland or Hungary. Although it can’t be seen on the streets, since both the Polish and Hungarians have a good economy right now. But wait 2 or 3 more years and another crisis and you will see where that will lead.

Moldova has a pro-russian president, Bulgaria and Serbia have some tight economic relations with Russia.

Maybe the only pro-european country in the region is Romania. And that was evident in the last weeks, when romanians took to the streets because of the socialist government. Why, you ask ? They tried to decriminalize small coruption (on an arbitrary limit of 200 000 lei) and reduced punishments for corruption.

I’ve recently traveled on a lot of countries in the European Union. I haven’t seen any sign of a xenophobia or problems because I was a romanian. Also, I haven’t seen any other incidents involving other people aside from nationals. Let’s put it like that.

I like an united europe. Because it’s peaceful. And when it’s not united, they mostly go to war. And with our today weapons, it’s going to be a bad one.

I tried to come up with something to explain why the world is so fucked up sometimes. We were making some good progress and then we managed to cut the stabilizing wood plank that keep us afloat.

What is going to be next, I don’t know. Only time will tell.
